I had my cleric on the other day, and joined a casual group of guildies in Echo Caverns. We were killing those things that are like big beetles, I forget their names, but a mob probably around low 40s or upper 30s in level - no big deal at all, and very low danger quotient. This was just "I feel like killing something" time.
The group:
47 cleric (me), 47 beastlord, 41 beastlord, 40-somethign chanter. The mobs were blue to all of us.
We came to a pull with two mobs next to each other, and the enchanter stood there and PACIFIED BOTH MOBS!
So the next group had 4 mobs sitting around. Only 3 adds, which would have made me go "yippy yippy!" and she cast Pacify on all 4. I felt like running to the other 3, casting a point blank AE, bringing them to the group, hitting Divine Aura, then saying "Earn your keep, young chanter!"
What kind of enchanter doesn't want to mezz, especially in a zone where it is so easy and safe? These mobs couldn't have 5 rounded her. Heavens, I used to intentionally pull trains, just so I could mezz them all and have the next 4 pulls waiting for the group, maybe charming one of them for extra DPS.
However, having learned long ago not to say "I play a (insert class here), and think that......." in a group, I just sat and wept.
(As an aside, the twerp didn't haste me when I asked, so I could get 2hb practice with my new hammer. Like Augmentation would suck her mana dry? grrrr....)
